Privacy policy
Last updated November 3, 2026
This policy explains what information Mindstair ("we") collects when you use mindstair.app and how it's used.
Information you give us
You don't need an account to use Mindstair. If you email us, we receive your email address and message and use them only to reply.
Accounts
If you create an account, we collect your email address, the username you choose, and a password (stored securely by Google Firebase Authentication; we never see it). If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and Google account ID from Google.
When you're signed in, your study progress (study plan answers, flashcards you know, answered questions, study time and practice test scores) is stored with your account in Google Cloud Firestore so it can follow you to other devices. We use this information only to run your account and show you your progress. We don't sell it or share it with advertisers.
You can delete your account and all saved progress at any time on the Account page.
Progress saved on your device
If you study without an account, your progress is saved only in your browser's local storage on your device and isn't sent to us. Signing out removes account progress from that device.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our hosting provider (Cloudflare) may process basic technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. We may use privacy-friendly analytics that count visits without identifying you.
Advertising and cookies
Mindstair shows ads to stay free. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info/choices.
See how Google uses information from sites that use its services. If you're in the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, you'll be asked for consent before personalized ads are shown.
Children
Mindstair is intended for students age 13 and older. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has sent us personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Your choices
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, opt out of personalized ads using the links above, and clear your saved progress at any time.
Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
