Units
- UNIT 01
Reflexive Verbs and Daily Routine
Reflexive (pronominal) verbs describe actions you do to yourself, like waking up, washing and getting dressed. They are the core of talking about your daily routine and they set up the passé composé with être later. - UNIT 02
The Passé Composé with Avoir
The passé composé tells what happened: completed actions in the past. Most verbs form it with the present tense of avoir plus a past participle, so this unit is the foundation of every past-tense story you will tell. - UNIT 03
The Passé Composé with Être
About seventeen common verbs, mostly verbs of motion or change of state, form the passé composé with être instead of avoir, and so do all reflexive verbs. With être, the past participle agrees with the subject, which is one of the most tested details in French 2. - UNIT 04
The Imparfait
The imparfait is the past tense for description, habits and ongoing actions: what things were like, what used to happen and what was going on. It is the most regular tense in French, so learning its formation is quick. - UNIT 05
Passé Composé vs. Imparfait
French uses two main past tenses together: the passé composé for events that move a story forward and the imparfait for background, habits and ongoing actions. Choosing between them is the single most tested skill in second-year French. - UNIT 06
Object Pronouns (Direct, Indirect, Y, En)
Object pronouns replace nouns so you do not repeat them: Je vois Marie becomes Je la vois. French has direct, indirect, y and en pronouns, and all of them go before the verb, which is why this unit takes practice. - UNIT 07
The Futur Simple
The futur simple says what will happen: Je voyagerai en France. It uses one set of endings on a stem that is usually the infinitive, plus a short list of irregular stems that appear on every test. - UNIT 08
The Imperative
The imperative gives commands, instructions and advice: Écoute ! Allons-y ! Asseyez-vous. It has only three forms, but pronoun placement and a few irregular verbs make it a frequent test topic. - UNIT 09
Comparisons and Superlatives
Comparisons say that something is more, less or as much as something else, and superlatives say it is the most or the least. The patterns are short, but adjective agreement, bon/bien and superlative word order are classic test traps. - UNIT 10
Food, Travel and Health Vocabulary
This unit gathers the practical vocabulary French 2 tests most: ordering food, buying groceries, traveling by train or plane and describing how you feel. It also reviews the partitive and expressions of quantity, which appear in every food conversation.
